One of my favourite things about camping is the cooking. While I am by no means a gourmet chef, I do love to dabble and there is nothing I like more than enjoying a good meal out in the bush, especially when I’m able to cook with fire.

I draw a lot of my cooking inspiration from other blogs and YouTubers and I’d like to give a shout out to Harry from Fire To Fork (check out his fabulous book), Cam from Wild Touring, Pete from WA Camping Adventures and of course the big ones, Shauno & Graham from 4WD 24-7 and Jase & Simon from All For Adventure to name a few.

As I said, I’m no chef but I do like to eat well when camping and I like to try out different recipes and often put my own spin on them. As I am a self confessed carnivore, most meals I create do feature meat fairly heavily but I also love to experiment with dampers, both sweet and savoury, so you will find some recipes that I enjoy creating along with some info on the gear I use below.
